INDIANAPOLIS -- On Feb. 24, the body of a young mother was found on Indianapolis' east side. The homicide remains unsolved, but not forgotten to those close to her.

Rosita Moore-Nash, the victim's mother, was forced to grieve her daughter's death 26 years to the day she celebrated her birth.

"I'm numb," she said. "It doesn't seem real."

Candice Pigee was found in the 800 block of N. Rural Street around 7 a.m. A neighbor spotted the body as she was coming outside to take her child to school.

Pigee had seven children, ages 1 to 11.

"It's not right," Moore-Nash said. "It's not right at all. One of them says she's just sleeping. You know, we tell her she's in heaven. If I didn't come from a spiritual background, I don't know where I'd be right now."

Moore-Nash says she finds her self asking the same questions and living the same nightmare she did 22 months ago, when her husband was murdered.

"I never healed from that," she said. "I never got closure on that. And now, I have to bury my daughter. ... No mother -- no mother should have to bury her daughter. Not like this."
