INDIANAPOLIS -- An officer with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was arrested Wednesday night on suspicion of DUI.
According to an IMPD spokesperson, Steve King was off-duty and in his personal vehicle when he was arrested.
King is currently on leave with pay, according to IMPD Chief Bryan Roach.
Roach will issue discipline after an internal investigation is conducted. He said there is a meeting scheduled for Thursday about where the department stands on the investigation, possible charges and administrative leave.
The department hopes to afford him all the resources he needs to get well. Roach said IMPD has invested a lot in King and he has a lot of experience with IMPD.
