INDIANAPOLIS - A man was shot and killed in an alley on Indianapolis near-east side early Sunday morning.
Police were called to the area of 10th Street and Rural Street around 8 a.m after a woman waiting on a bus saw the man lying unresponsive in an alley.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department detectives say Martel "Chicago" Thomas, 34, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police believe the shooting may be connected to a "shots fired" call they received nearby just after 5:30 Sunday morning.
The shooting remains under investigation by the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
