INDIANAPOLIS -- Speedway police are investigating two armed robberies from the past 24 hours, including one in which a man was shot.

The first robbery was reported at the Sunoco gas station at 5208 W. 10th Street shortly before 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Witnesses described two young suspects, one possible a juvenile, entering the gas station and demanding money at gunpoint.

At least one person inside the business was battered by the suspects during the robbery, but no serious injuries were reported.

Speedway Police Department released two surveillance images Wednesday morning of the suspected robbers.

The second robbery occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 2900 block of Consulate Lane in the International Village Apartments.

According to Speedway police, two suspects approached a man in the complex’s parking lot and shot him in the leg before robbing him. The suspects then fled in a small, grey vehicle.

One of the suspects was described as a black male, approximately 25 years old, with a small build and a mustache. He was wearing a gray hoodie and jeans.

The victim was taken to the hospital, but is expected to be OK.
