INDIANAPOLIS -- Indianapolis police arrested a suspect Sunday in the murder of a homeless woman last month.

Carylon Y. Young, 59, was arrested Sunday on a preliminary charge of murder in connection to the death of Margaret Means, 65, of Indianapolis.

Means' body was found wrapped in a blanket in the corner of an abandoned lot on November 18. An autopsy showed she had been stabbed to death.

Marion County Jail records show Young has had several recent stints behind bars.

He was arrested on September 2 on two charges each of battery and disorderly conduct. He was released the following day on his own recognizance.

Young was then arrested on October 6 after failing to appear for a court date for those charges. He was released two days later on a $500 bond.

Then, on Saturday, Young was arrested on two charges of criminal trespass. He was released the following day at 3:23 p.m.

He was taken back into custody Sunday on a preliminary charge of murder in connection to Means' death.

The case has since been given to the Marion County Prosecutor's Office for review. The other charges against Young remain awaiting trial.

As of Monday afternoon, Young was being held at the Marion County Jail without bail.
