LAWRENCE, Ind. -- Two men are on the run after police say they robbed a Lawrence bank Thursday morning.

The robbery happened at the Huntington Bank on Pendleton Pike and Oak-Landon Road just after 9 a.m.

Employees told police that the men walked into the bank shortly after the branch opened and demanded money from the tellers. The two men then left in a stolen white Mercedes.

Police found the Mercedes a short distance from the bank.

"They fled in a vehicle which has been recovered in the area nearby which typically means there may have been another vehicle staged there,"  said Lawrence Police Department Deputy Chief Gary Woodruff. "We are not completely certain of that but our detectives are investigating all of the details."

Medics were called to the bank to check on an employee who was shaken up after the robbery but is expected to be okay.

The FBI and Lawrence police interviewed everyone inside the bank at the time of the robbery.

Huntington Bank is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrests and convictions of the two suspects.

Anyone with information about the robbery should contact the Lawrence Police Department or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
