SPRINGVILLE, Ind. -- A volunteer firefighter in Lawrence County's Perry Township is accused of lighting multiple recent fires in the area.
Adam Selbee, 19, of Bedford, Indiana, was arrested Friday on three counts each of arson and criminal recklessness.
The Perry Township (Lawrence Co.) Volunteer Fire Department's website lists Selbee as a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical responder.
According to 1340 AM WBIW, which broadcasts from Bedford, the area has seen a rash of fires in the past several months – including one that destroyed the Springville Gymnasium in July.
Springville is raising money through a GoFundMe page to try to rebuild the gym, which had been used as a community center.
