ABC News has revealed that Barbara Walters is suffering from another health issue - The View co-host and newswoman has the chicken pox.

Whoopi Goldberg made the announcement on Monday's edition of The View, saying Walters had been running a temperature and that it was "all the result of a delayed childhood thing."

Walters has been in the hospital for 10 days, ever since falling at the British ambassador's house over the inauguration weekend.

She cut her head in the fall and was kept in the hospital out of an abundance of caution when the fever was discovered.

It is not clear when Walters contracted chicken pox.

In announcing Walters' current condition, Goldberg sent a message saying, "We love you. We miss you. We just don't want to hug you." She also told Walters. "no scratching."
