LONDON - It's the question every royal watcher wants to know, and the Duchess of Cambridge may have dropped a big hint about whether she's having a boy or a girl.
The Sun is reporting that Kate, 31, told a woman who gave her a teddy bear this week, "Thank you, I will take that for my d... for my baby."
After the perceived slipup, fellow onlookers began to congratulate the duchess, who is five-months pregnant, but she insisted to the crowd that she didn't know if she and Prince William were having a boy or girl, The Sun reported.
"When she shook hands with me I said, 'You nearly slipped up there. You were going to say daughter, weren't you?'" onlooker Sandra Cook told the paper. "She smiled and said, 'What do you mean? We don't know yet.' I teased her and said, 'Oh I think you do' -- to which, still smiling, she replied, 'We're not telling.'"
Of course, the paper points out that Kate could have been starting to say "darling," or the baby's potential name, male or female.
If the royal couple is having a girl, it will be a historic moment for the U.K. The country's law was recently changed to allow a female firstborn to become monarch.
