CLEARWATER, Fla. - A crash that sent a motorcyclist cartwheeling through the air at a Clearwater intersection was captured by a red light video camera. Amazingly, the motorcyclist literally walked away after landing on the pavement.
The crash occurred around 3:45 p.m. on May 24 at Belcher Road and Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard.
Alex Jay Hall of St. Petersburg was attempting to turn east on Gulf-to-Bay when he was hit by the driver of the Honda motorcycle, Michael Curtis Smith of Clearwater.
Smith flew through the air and quickly got up after landing in the roadway. He was not injured.
Hall was cited for an improper left turn and driving with a suspended license without knowledge.
Police say Smith did not have the required motorcycle endorsement on his driver's license.
