Ericka Flye anchors the 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. nightly newscasts.

She's also an Emmy-nominated host of “Indianapolis This Week,” RTV6’s weekly political and community affairs show, and Ericka is proud to present the prestigious Jefferson Award to Hoosiers for their public service.

After residing in Chicago, Los Angeles and Columbus, Ohio, Ericka returned to her home state of Indiana and joined the 6News team in March of 2000. She calls it a blessing to be close to her family.

Ericka is a native of Anderson, Ind. She is a graduate of Ball State University in Muncie, and also attended Purdue University in West Lafayette.

Prior to joining RTV6, Ericka was an anchor/reporter at The Ohio News Network/WBNS in Columbus, OH. Her career in television news began at WTHR, Indianapolis, where she performed several duties behind the scenes and worked her way up to overnight news anchor.

She is actively involved in several community associations and especially enjoys working with the youth.

Ericka founded a mentoring group, aimed at teaching girls the life skills needed to develop into successful women. She says she is proud to be a role model and inspiration, to help young people reach their highest potential.

Ericka spends much of her spare time indulging in her favorite hobby, interior decorating. She also enjoys dining, shopping, and music.
