FBI To Search Landfill In Lauren Spierer Case

The FBI will search a Terre Haute landfill in connection with the case of missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer, the landfill's owner told 6News.

Republic Services, the owner of the Sycamore Ridge Landfill, which handles waste from Bloomington, confirmed Tuesday night that the company had been contacted by the FBI concerning a search.

Senior Vice President of Communications Will Flower said he does not yet known when the search will happen but said the company will cooperate fully with the FBI investigation.

Flower said no media will be allowed at the landfill when the search is conducted.

Wednesday marks two months since Spierer, 20, was last seen in the early morning hours walking near her Bloomington apartment.

Spierer weighs about 90 pounds and is 4 feet 11 inches tall. Police asked anyone with information to call 812-339-4477.
