Magazine Cites Low Property Prices, Crime Rate

Reasonable property prices, a growing school district and lots of green space has earned Fishers a spot as the nation's top suburb.

Bloomberg BusinessWeek weighed data from across the country to find communities where families can live well for less with good schools, low crime and reasonable commutes.

Editors said they singled out the Hamilton County suburb northeast of Indianapolis because of its low property prices -- $174,438 is the median home cost -- lower-than-average unemployment rate of 6.5 percent and low crime rate.

The article also cited the town's 12 parks and more than 65 miles of multipurpose trail.
