A former Pike High School girls' basketball coach pleaded guilty Monday to two felony counts of child seduction that stemmed from a sexual relationship she had with one of her players.Sara Strahm previously admitted that she had sex with a 17-year-old player on her team in 2009 and told authorities she loved the girl.Strahm was sentenced to 365 days in prison, with 185 suspended and 180 executed on home detention. She was also ordered to complete 240 hours of community service work. The Marion County Prosecutor's Office said Strahm will be on probation for 185 days and must undergo sex offender treatment. She has a no-contact order with the victim.Strahm was ordered to give up her teaching license. Her felonies will be reduced to misdemeanors if she successfully completes probation.Under Indiana law, a minor can't give consent for such a relationship if it is with someone in a position of trust, such as a school official.Strahm, who taught special education at the school, was arrested in December 2009 after a week-long investigation that began when a school official told police of the allegations.Police said the encounters between Strahm and the girl occurred at Strahm's home on Indianapolis' far west side. She was terminated from the school district in January.
