COLUMBUS, Ind. -- A young Columbus, Indiana, boy took time out of his Thanksgiving Break this week to show his thanks for his city's men and women in blue.

The Columbus Police Department posted to its Facebook page that a boy named Isaiah had dropped by Monday to bring them muffins he baked for the officers.

"He was concerned about the officers who have been killed and injured in the line of duty this year," the department wrote. "Isaiah could have spent the first day of his Thanksgiving break watching movies or playing games but instead he took time to bake our officers muffins to show his support and help lift our spirits."

Isaiah's gesture comes just one day after four police officers were shot nationwide. One of those officers, San Antonio Police Det. Benjamin Marconi, died as a result of his injuries.

In thanks for the muffins, CPD officers gave Isaiah a tour of the department and the opportunity to meet several officers during roll call.
