NORTH HUNTINGDON, Pa. - A medical emergency delayed the wedding of a Pennsylvania couple, but not for too long.
Instead, the couple tied the knot while the groom was still hospitalized, WTAE , the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, reported.
Mary Alice and Robert Adams were about to get married Friday when she noticed something was wrong with the groom.
It turned out he was having heart problems and had to be rushed to the emergency room. After doctors stabilized Robert, the nurses became wedding planners.
They decorated the room and got Mary Alice a bouquet before the couple said "I do."
The couple had known each other as friends for 35 years, but didn’t begin dating until just over a year ago.
Congratulations to the happy couple!
