Three-legged dog hit by car, left in ditch recovering in foster home

Hope is 'bouncing back remarkably well'

A three-legged dog that was hit by a car and found in a drainage ditch has found a loving foster home.

A good Samaritan found the 8-month-old pooch and took her to the Brown County Humane Society where she was aptly named Hope.

Hope had to have a rear leg amputated, the other leg and pelvis pinned, and was in need of a foster home that would take her to Indianapolis twice a week for physical therapy.

Officials with CanINE Express Transport Project said Tammy and Jim Bacon of USA Roofing Systems and Exteriors, LLC , took Hope into their home.

"She is bouncing back remarkably well in the Bacons' care. She even feels well enough to play with her new snake "binky" and is starting to bark when a stranger comes to the house," CanINE Express officials said.
