MOORE, S.C. - The heartwarming moment when a young man with Down syndrome found out he got accepted into college was captured on camera.
The parents of 20-year-old Rion Holcombe, of Moore, S.C., said it was a day they weren’t sure he would ever get to experience.
Rion was accepted to the Clemson LIFE program at Clemson University earlier in December. The emotional moment was caught on film and posted to YouTube.
The video has gone viral since it was posted Dec. 6 and has been viewed more than 1.1 million times.
The Holcombes told ABC News they couldn’t be more excited about their son's future.
Rion will learn to live independently and get experience in job training, internships, budgeting finances, cooking and doing chores around the house.
