WESTFIELD, Ind. - Westfield is among the top 50 small towns in the U.S., according to a CNN Money ranking of thriving towns.
The ranking released Monday places Westfield at No. 18 in the country. When Money did a similar ranking of small towns in 2011, Westfield ranked 48th.
"Westfield is a great town that's in the midst of getting even better," Money said on its site, citing the pending addition of Grand Park, a 400-acre sports complex, as a positive addition.
Sharon, Mass., about 15 miles outside Boston, topped this year's list, which focused exclusively on cities and towns with population between 10,000 and 50,000.
Carmel topped a Money best small cities list in 2012. That ranking focused on cities ranging in size from 50,000 to 300,000 people.
