A southern Indiana group is holding a two-day yard sale to raise money for a dog blinded by a fungus believed stirred up by March's tornado outbreak.

Southern Indiana Animal Rescue will sell donated items Friday and Saturday in Jeffersonville in hopes of raising at least $1,200 for treatments the dog needs.

The black and white dog now named Solomon was found emaciated, anemic and blind Aug. 4 in a Henryville field by volunteers rebuilding a tornado victim's home.

Southern Indiana Animal Rescue volunteer Elizabeth Starck said Solomon tested positive for a fungus found in the ground that doctors believe was stirred up by the deadly March 2 tornadoes.

Solomon is doing "very well" and living temporarily with a foster family, the News and Tribune reported.
