As Reggie Miller prepares to be inducted in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Friday night, Hoosiers are eager to look back on his 18-year career with the Pacers.

Miller, born Reginald Wayne Miller, was born Aug. 24, 1965, in Riverside, Calif. He attended UCLA. Miller was chosen by the Pacers with the 11th pick in the 1st round of the 1987 NBA Draft.

He went on to play his entire 18-year career with the Pacers, earning a reputation for his precision three-point shooting.

Miller's last game was on May 19, 2005, at then-Conseco Fieldhouse, when the Pacers lost 88-79 to the Detroit Pistons in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

When he was taken out with 15.7 seconds to play, the crowd gave him a final standing ovation, and the Pistons called a timeout so the Detroit bench could join the ovation.

Miller, who now works as a NBA commentator for TNT, is one of five Pacers to have his jersey -- No. 31 -- retired by the team.

Miller will be inducted in the hall of fame Friday night. "It's starting to sink in, 'I'm in the HOF!!'" he tweeted early Thursday.
