Henryville High School seniors displayed perseverance and determination through tragedy on Saturday at the schools graduation ceremonies.
Henryville High School was heavily damaged in the March tornadoes that tore through southern Indiana, so the ceremonies were held at nearby Scottsburg High School.
Ninety students turned their tassels and student speakers talked about the new unity classmates have experienced in the last three months.
Everyone here is just really excited and they love being able to graduate together instead of a separate schools, senior Rachel Hamm said.
Our class means everything and no matter what happens, no one can keep us from not being the 2012 graduating class of Henryville, senior Sarah Richey said.
Bricks from the Henryville High School debris were displayed on the stage, symbolizing the strong foundation of the 2012 graduating class.
