I-69 Reopens After Woman's Apparent Suicide

Police: Woman Jumped Out In Front Of Semi

Northbound Interstate 69 has reopened in Hamilton County after an apparent suicide Wednesday afternoon, police said.

All four northbound lanes were shut down at mile marker 5 after the incident near mile marker 9.

Fishers police said dispatchers started taking calls just after 2 p.m. reporting a woman running in front of vehicles.

Police said the woman purposely jumped out in front of a tractor-trailer. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the truck driver was very shaken by the incident.

The backup along I-69 stretched for several miles shortly after the incident. The lanes were reopened just before 4:30 p.m.
