A crash that happened during a high-speed chase is connected to a fatal shooting on Indianapolis' south side, police say.

Two people in a stolen SUV led police on a high-speed chase that began in Indianapolis about 11:30 a.m., police said.

The chase began in the area of 38th Street and Lafayette Road in Indianapolis, moved to Interstate 65, then west on 46th Street over Eagle Creek before ending at 56th Street and Northfield Drive in Hendricks County.

Information about injuries was not immediately available. At least one person was led to a police car in handcuffs.

Police are also searching in the area of 56th Street and Dandy Trail for a weapon and other evidence.
