Sept. 17, 2001 – Marion County sheriff's Deputy Jason Baker was fatally shot during a gun battle that started with a chase.
Aug. 18, 2004 – Indianapolis police Officer Timothy "Jake" Laird was fatally shot during a shooting rampage.
Sept. 24, 2004 -- Butler University Police Officer James L. Davis fatally shot while responding to call of suspicious person inside the school's basketball arena.
Jan. 23, 2011 – Indianapolis police Officer David Moore was fatally shot while making a traffic stop.
Sept. 20, 2013 -- Indianapolis police Officer Rod Bradway was fatally shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call.
