Indianapolis Museum Gets Indoor Google Map

Users Can Navigate Indianapolis Museum of Art By Phone

Navigating the Indianapolis Museum of Art is about to get easier for Android users.

The museum of one of 20 across the country that's been added to Google's indoor maps.

Visitors with Android phones or tablets can see the museum's floor plan, route their path from exhibit to exhibit and identify points of interest along the way.

To access the floor plans, users can open Google Maps and zoom in on the museum of interest, search for the museum by name or use the "my location" feature to orient themselves.

The de Young Museum in San Francisco, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Cincinnati Museum Center, the American Museum of Natural History and 17 Smithsonian museums are also on the list.

Google said the effort is part of a push to bring greater access to revered cultural and educational institutions around the world.
