INDIANAPOLIS - One person was critically injured and another seriously injured in a crash Friday morning on the city's east side.
A blue Volvo 940 ran off the road and hit a concrete storm drain culvert near Franklin Road and Orchid Lane just before 11 a.m., officials with the Indianapolis Fire Department said.
The driver and one passenger had to be extricated from the car, officials said.
A unidentified woman was taken to IU Methodist Hospital in serious condition, and an unidentified man was taken in critical condition.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating the crash.
