1 dead, 1 injured in shooting at recording studio on northeast side

Suspect still at large

INDIANAPOLIS - One person died and one was injured when shots were fired on the city's northeast side Thursday.

Indianapolis Metro police were dispatched to the CVS at 46th Street and Keystone Avenue around 8 p.m. on reports of shots fired.

Police said they found a man at the CVS suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his hand, although police think the shooting occurred three blocks away.

Investigators think the victim in the parking lot walked to the pharmacy for help after being shot at "1 Stop Media Center," a nearby recording studio in the 2000 block of 46th Street.

Police were told there might be another person shot nearby. While they were canvassing the area, they noticed the door to the recording studio was open, and that's where they found the deceased victim, police said. The victim in the studio was pronounced dead at the scene.

Even though there were two scenes, police think the two shootings are related.

"We believe that the incident that was at the CVS is connected to the shooting that happened at the business," said Metro police spokesman Kendale Adams. "He possibly ran to the CVS. We had a blood trail that led to the CVS."

Police said the shooter is still at large.
