INDIANAPOLIS - Police are questioning a man after a fatal shooting that left one man dead.

Metro police were called to the 3700 block of North Brentwood Avenue Wednesday night by a caller who said a man had been shot and was unconscious.

The officers found an unresponsive 51-year-old man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound, police said. Medical responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police are questioning a 63-year-old man who told officers that he shot the victim during a disturbance, police said.

Both the victim and the man being questioned have been preliminarily identified, but police have not released that information.

An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday morning and the crime scene is being processed by a forensics team.
