LEBANON, Ind. -- One person was killed in a house fire early Saturday morning in Lebanon.

The fire broke in the overnight hours at a home at the intersection of Bibler Street and Campbell Street.

The Lebanon Fire Chief said three police officers were first on the scene and tried going in the home to rescue a victim trapped in the home, but were pushed back by the flames.

David Dickerson, 44, died at the scene according to the Lebanon Fire Department.

Two women were also taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.  One was Dickerson's wife, Angie Dickerson.  The other was believed to be a cousin whose name was not released.  Two dogs and a cat belonging to the Dickersons also died in the fire.

The three officers also went to the hospital to be monitored, but are expected to be okay.

Investigators are still trying to figure out what caused the fire.
