INDIANAPOLIS - One person was killed and one person was critically injured in a shooting on the city's near-north side early Wednesday, police said.
Just after midnight, Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers went to the 1100 block of Congress Avenue on reports of a shooting.
When police arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were hospitalized in critical condition, but one of them later succumbed to the injuries just before 4 a.m., IMPD officers said.
The victims' names were not released and the motive behind the shooting remained under investigation.
