INDIANAPOLIS - Police were investigating a double-fatal shooting on the city’s east side Tuesday evening.
The incident happened near East 19th and North Rural streets around 7 p.m. at a Citgo gas station, officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
When police arrived, they found two men who had been shot. One man was pronounced dead at the scene, officials said.
The second man was taken to Eskenazi Health in critical condition where he later died.
Police later identified the victims as Tyrece Dorsey, 23, and William Davis, 25, both from Indianapolis.
Authorities believe the victims arrived at the gas station with two other men in a white Buick. At least one of the men got out of the car to go into the store when he and the other victim were shot by an unknown suspect, police said.
The suspect was described as a black male wearing all black clothing. The motive for the shooting was not yet known.
