MOORESVILLE, Ind. - One person was killed in a three-vehicle crash in Morgan County on Monday, police said.
The wreck happened around 4 p.m. on State Road 67 just north of Centerton Road, south of County Road 150 East in Mooresville.
Police said a Buick, driven by Jeff A. Hopson, 29, of Indianapolis, was traveling southbound in the northbound lane when the crash happened.
According to police, Hopson, who was killed in the crash, had carjacked the Buick after fleeing the scene of a domestic dispute that the police had been called to.
Police said Hopson stabbed the driver of the Buick and stole approximately $40 before driving onto 67.
The Buick's driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Hopson drove the Buick into the path of a northbound International straight truck, police said. The impact spun the Buick into the path of a van.
The van's driver, Paul Sharp, 48, of Indianapolis, was flown by helicopter to a hospital in Indianapolis. Sharp is in stable condition, but he suffered injuries to his legs, shoulder and head.
The northbound lanes of State Road 67 were closed immediately after the crash, and police asked drivers to avoid the area.
