MADISON COUNTY, Ind. - One person is dead after a shooting at a home in Madison County, police said.
Just after 3 a.m. Tuesday, Madison County Sheriff's Department officers went to a home in the 6400 block of West CR 300 South on reports of a shooting.
When officers arrived there, they found a dead man inside the home. Police did not release the victim's identity.
Malcolm Cobb Jr., 45, of Anderson, was arrested on a preliminary charge of murder.
Investigators said they were conducting interviews at the home to determine a motive.
Neighbors told RTV6 the victim and suspect were friends, but an early-morning disagreement turned deadly.
"It's really sad... they were friends," said neighbor Mark Swinford. "From what I heard, alcohol may have been involved."
Cobb is being held without bond at the Madison County Jail.
