INDIANAPOLIS - A Greenfield man was killed in a crash that closed Interstate 465 on Indianapolis' southwest side Thursday morning.
The two-vehicle crash happened in the westbound lanes near Mann Road just before 8:30 a.m.
Police said Kenneth S. Meadows, 46, was driving a work van when he ran into the back of a tractor-trailer driven by John L. Roberson, 57, of Illinois.
Witnesses told police the semi was driving slowly and that Meadows was speeding before the crash. They said they didn't see any brake lights, and no skid marks were left behind, police said.
Meadows was taken to Indiana University Health's Methodist Hospital, where he later died.
Roberson was not injured. He was not ticketed in the crash.
The highway was reopened about an hour after the crash.
