INDIANAPOLIS - A 13-year-old boy was injured after being shot inside a home on the city's west side early Sunday.
The shooting was reported about midnight in the 3400 block of Aylesford Lane near 39th Street and Kessler Boulevard, Indianapolis Metro Police Department officers said.
When police arrived at the scene, there appeared to be a house party attended by a large group of teens. Police said at some point before the shooting, there was a disturbance and some of the teens were forced to leave the home. As the teens were leaving, someone outside the home fired shots at the house and the 13-year-old boy was struck.
The victim was taken to Riley Hospital for Children at IU Health in critical condition. Police did not say if there were any adults inside the home at the time of the shooting.
