$10,000 reward offered in gun theft from Greenfield sporting goods store

GREENFIELD, Ind. -- A $10,000 reward is being offered in the theft of 12 guns from an sporting goods store in Greenfield, Indiana early Thursday morning.

The burglary happened at J & M Sporting Goods, at 3527 W. US Highway 40 in Greenfield. 

Minutes after the 911 call was made, Hancock County deputies arrived on the scene to find the business burglarized with 12 guns stolen from the location.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation announced the $10,000 reward Thursday for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for stealing the guns.

Police are trying to find out if this burglary is related to a burglary at Highsmith Guns in Greenfield on Aug. 19.

Hancock County investigators are working with the Greenfield Police Department and the ATF.
