11th robbery suspect in police custody

INDIANAPOLIS - Police have arrested another suspect related to a violent home robbery at 79th Street and College Avenue.

Adrian Anthony, 20, was taken into police custody about 11 p.m. Saturday near 30th Street and College, police said. Metro police had been looking for Anthony for weeks.

Anthony was booked on preliminary charges of felony rape and felony criminal deviate conduct for his suspected role in the Oct. 24 crime spree, during which several men got into a family's home through an unsecured back door, demanded phones, cash, car keys and jewelry, and raped one woman and shot and sexually assaulted another.

Law enforcement officials have described the crimes as particularly egregious.

"A degree of violence well beyond the normal home burglary," said Deputy Prosecutor Barbera Trathan. "Exceedingly beyond a home burglary."

Despite Anthony's arrest, IMPD says the investigation isn't over.

"Detectives are looking at every piece of evidence and if they can link it in any way to any other crime or individual, that's what they'll do," said IMPD Officer Christopher Wilburn.
