FORT WAYNE, Ind. - Fort Wayne police say the bodies of a man and a woman have been removed from a pickup truck that apparently drove off of a bridge and plunged into a river.
Police Sgt. Scott Caudill tells The Journal Gazette (http://bit.ly/1gtVy6q ) a passerby called 911 about 7:30 a.m. Thursday to report new damage to the south end of the Tecumseh Street bridge.
Fire personnel who responded to the scene determined there was a vehicle submerged in the Maumee River below the bridge and that there were victims inside.
Caudill says the two victims are believed to be a local man and woman.
The crash remains under investigation.
