GREENWOOD, Ind. - Two men bound and held customers and employees at gunpoint during a bank robbery in Greenwood on Thursday, police said.
The robbery was reported at 9:20 a.m. at the First Merchants Bank near U.S. 31 and East Worthsville Road.
Witnesses said two gunmen wearing ski masks burst into the bank, pointing pistols at those inside and ordering everyone to the floor.
The gunmen then bound the hands of the customers and employees behind their backs while they took an undisclosed amount of money from the teller stations, witnesses said.
The thieves then ran westbound from the bank.
No one was seriously injured.
Witnesses said they believe there was at least one other person involved in the holdup because the gunmen were talking on a two-way radio to someone not in the bank.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Greenwood police at 317-881-2518 or the department's anonymous tip line at 317-865-0300.
