1 man dies in Grant County trench collapse
Other victim treated, released from hospital

MARION, Ind. - One man died and another man was injured when the walls of a trench collapsed on them Wednesday evening, officials said.
Officers with the Grant County Sheriff’s Department responded to the incident that happened in the 800 block of West 406 South in Marion, Ind. just after 7 p.m.
A homeowner, identified as Ross Hoffman, and his friend, Jason Ewer, were both trapped, officials said.
Police said Hoffman was buried up to his chest and Ewer was buried up to his waist.
Emergency workers dug both men out and transported them to Marion General Hospital.
Hoffman, 55, was unresponsive at the scene and was pronounced dead at the hospital, officials said.
Ewer was treated and released from the hospital.
