BOONE COUNTY, Ind. - Three people were hospitalized late Wednesday after a wrong-way crash involving three vehicles on Interstate 65 in Boone County.
The crash happened just before 11:30 p.m., when a silver 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix was traveling the north in the southbound lanes of I-65 near mile marker 133.
The Grand Prix struck an airport taxi headed south and debris from the collision was spread over three lanes of the interstate. Moments later, an oncoming Dodge van hit the airport taxi, causing minor damage, police said.
A Brownsburg woman driving the Grand Prix was unconscious when emergency crews arrived. She was rushed to Methodist Hospital with unknown injuries. Two men were taken to St. Vincents Hospital but their conditions were not released.
The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team was called to the scene. Police said alcohol could be a factor, but the crash is still under investigation.
Police said there were other passengers in Grand Prix and they were being questioned.
