CARMEL, Ind. - Two teens were arrested after a SUV crashed near the Palladium at the Center for Performing Arts in Carmel early Tuesday morning, police said.
Just before 4 a.m., Carmel police officers got a call about suspicious activity reported in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue Northeast. A woman told police she saw people standing around her SUV outside her home. A few minutes later, police spotted the SUV driving away from area.
When police attempted to stop the SUV, the driver sped off and crashed into the parking garage on Rangline Road and City Center Drive.
Seconds after the crash, police said three suspects jumped out of the SUV. Two of them jumped over a wall and one ran away, police said. One of the suspects that jumped the wall hurt his leg and was immediately taken into custody. He was identified as a 17-year-old boy from Indianapolis and was treated at St. Vincent Hospital, detectives said.
Police found the second suspect, Kelsey Robinson, 18, of Indianapolis, hiding under a nearby vehicle.
Police said the third suspect was not located and that charges were pending against the two people arrested.
Anyone with information about the incident was asked to call the Carmel Police Department at 571-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 262-TIPS (8477).
