2 teens arrested in armed robbery at Franklin pharmacy

Davonte Hubbard, Devan Twitchell arrested

FRANKLIN, Ind. - Police have arrested two teens suspected in an armed robbery at a Johnson County drugstore that prompted police to lockdown Franklin Community Schools on May 16.

Two of the suspects were Indianapolis Public Schools students who skipped class at the time of the robbery and the remaining suspect died from a drug overdose shortly after the incident, detectives said.

The incident happened about 10:20 a.m. at the Henderson Drugs on Jefferson Street between U.S. 31 and Interstate 65.

Police said two armed men entered the store and demanded an undisclosed amount of drugs from the pharmacy.

"They fled the store, and then an employee gave chase with his own personal weapon and fired shots into the ground, ordering them to stop. They did not," said Franklin Police Chief Tim O'Sullivan.

The men were last seen leaving the store in a gray or silver 2001 to 2007 Dodge Caravan with a missing right-rear hubcap, police said.

Police said their investigation prompted them to serve search warrants on the vehicle in question and at a home in Indianapolis.

Davonta Hubbard, 18, was arrested Tuesday on armed robbery charges and Devan Twitchell, 19, was arrested Wednesday on charges of aiding in the armed robbery.

Police said a third suspect, Hayden Glass, 18, died of an overdose one day after the robbery.

Hubbard and Glass were IPS high school students , police said.
