A 17-year-old girl and an 18-year-old woman were killed on the city's west side late Sunday night.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were sent to the 2000 block of Berwick Avenue at around 11:30 p.m. When they got there, two men flagged them down and said two women had been shot.

Police found a gray vehicle with two women in it with multiple gunshot wounds. Medics arrived and pronounced both deceased.

The victims were later identified as Coriana Johnson, 17, and Makayla Mitchell, 18.

In a police report, the victims were said to be aged 17 and 16. An IMPD release distributed later in the morning stated they were aged 17 and 18.

Police detained the two men who flagged them down for questioning, but no arrests have been made.
