INDIANAPOLIS - Investigators have arrested a man wanted for the murder of a 26-year-old woman whose body was found wrapped in a blanket in a remote area in Morgan County.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) said Thursday that David Lawrence, 31, was apprehended out of state and will be transported back to Indiana in the next few days.
A manhunt was launched for Lawrence last weekend after a witness contacted police to alert them to a possible homicide that had happened Aug. 22.
Lawrence has been charged with the murder of Kelly Moss, whose body was found Saturday wrapped in a blanket in rural Morgan County.
The witness who contacted authorities told police she had loaned her car to a man whom she identified as Lawrence. Police said the witness stated Lawrence told her he had shot and killed Moss while she sat in the front seat of the car. The vehicle was recovered and towed to a secure crime lab bay.
An autopsy on Moss is pending.
