SALEM, Ind. - Police have arrested a Salem, Ind., mother in the death of her infant son.
Casey Crain, 23, is facing a felony charge of neglect of a dependent.
Salem police said 8-month-old Leelan Crain was found unresponsive by his mother and her boyfriend, Jamie Lykins, 24, at approximately 7 p.m. Sept. 7. Leelan had been taking a nap prior to the incident, his mother told police.
Leelan was pronounced dead at approximately 1:41 a.m. the following day.
An autopsy performed on Leelan at the Kentucky Medical Examiner's Office returned a preliminary cause of death of blunt force trauma to the head.
Lykins was arrested Monday on preliminary charges of neglect of a dependent and battery causing death.
