3 wounded by gunfire on city's NE side

INDIANAPOLIS - Police were searching for possible suspects after a shooting near Washington Park sent three men to the hospital Tuesday evening.

The victims were shot near 28th and Dearborn streets around 7:30 p.m., officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.

Two of the victims were shot in the legs. They were both taken to Eskenazi Health in stable condition, police said.

A third male victim was dropped off at Community East Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Police said more than a dozen shots were fired and two nearby homes sustained damage from gunshots. One of the homes had about eight bullet holes, a resident said.
