MILLTOWN, Ind. - A 5-year-old girl was injured over the weekend after the off-road motorcycle she was riding flipped on top of her.
Indiana Conservation Officers said the crash happened in southern Indiana at a private residence near Milltown, about 30 miles west of Louisville, Ky.
Sasha Crawford, 5, was being watched by her father who was letting her operate a 50 CC dirt bike, WHAS11.com reported.
She was wearing a helmet and a chest protector but when the vehicle flipped over, she hurt her leg and back.
Crawford was flown via medical helicopter to Kosair Children’s Hospital Sunday.
Conservation officers said the severity of the injuries was likely reduced because of the protective gear she was wearing.
