INDIANAPOLIS -- Weather forced the cancellation of a flyover event planned for a 747 jumbo-jet.

The jumbo jet, owned by Rolls-Royce and operated by Raytheon Company, was scheduled to fly over the city around 1 p.m. Tuesday. It was originally planned for noon, but was delayed due to weather, and ultimately canceled.

You can see a couple of photos snapped by a photographer in Fishers as the plane was on approach to Indy.

The flight was a "test bed" for new commercial engines. It was approved by the FAA, local government and airport officials.

The planned flight path was for the 747 to enter Indianapolis from the east side, into the south end of downtown then to the southwest side of the city.
